What is the difference between a Homeowner and Contractor Account?
A Homeowner Account is a view that allows homeowners to control, customize and take full advantage of the XLINK device features. The homeowner is the primary user for the XLINK device for their well system. This view is not for the service provider or contractor. Homeowners will be able to add up to 8 devices to their account including other household member accounts or contractor accounts.
- Add up to 8 controls
- Full access to controls and features
- Ability to add household members and contractor
- Intended for the user accounts associated with the household directly
A Contractor Account is a view specifically designed for professional contractors (well drillers, plumbers etc.) to remotely access and troubleshoot XLINK devices for their respective homeowners. Contractor accounts look very similar to homeowner account views, however the contractor cannot setup/own XLINK devices and only have permissions to the device granted by the homeowner.
There are three levels of permissions given to the contractor:
- Diagnostics
- Diagnostics & alerts
- Diagnostics & alerts & adjust settings
In addition, contractors can leave notes, view control locations, and contact the XLINK Tech Service line if help is needed.
